10 Simple Piles Treatment at Home

Piles or Hemorrhoids affect the anal region where the rectal veins get swollen and enlarged abnormally.

Types Of Piles

Piles can be internal or external, or both.  Internal piles occur when the swelling happens inside the anal passage, external when the piles become visible and palpable from the anus.  The most common are a combination of the two.

Under all types, rectal bleeding can occur. Internal piles are often categorized according to stages or severity of formation.  The early stages are the best candidates for home treatment.  The more advance stages can be severe enough to warrant out-patient or surgical treatment.

Getting Rid of Piles at Home

There are some home medication you can use to alleviate if not treat Piles.  Here are the more potent ones:

1) Over-the-counter anti-Hemorrhoidal medication is quite common from your local drugstores.  Soothing creams and gels containing corticosteroids like Proctosedyl and Anugesic-HC or local anesthetic like lidocaine can reduce swelling and pain.

2) With bleeding piles, mango seeds dried and powered can be effective to reduce the swelling and bleeding.  Given from 1.5 to 2 grams mixed in honey twice a day often does the job.

3) Bleeding piles can be medicated with about 30 grams of onions finely rubbed in water mixed with twice as much sugar.  Taken twice daily, the mixture can bring relief in a few days.  Dry piles can also benefit from roasted skinned and crushed onions.

4) Take half a teaspoon of ginger juice mixed with one teaspoonful each of lime juice, honey and fresh mint juice to relieve pile discomfort.

5) Salted black berry fruit taken every morning for 2-3 months have been known to shrink hemorrhoids.

6) Thoroughly cleaned 3-4 dried figs soaked in water overnight and taken with the water they were soaked in upon waking up and before sleeping for 3-4 weeks can cure piles.  The figs contain qualities that stimulate peristaltic movement of the intestines that facilitates fecal evacuation and keep the alimentary canal clean.  Anal pressures are relieved to shrink hemorrhoids or reduce their chances of further developing.

7) The chebulic myroblan is a popular herbal remedy for piles. It’s an effective laxative and astringent for the digestive tract.   Roast the fruit in oil to a brown color.  Powder it and store.  Taking half a teaspoon at bedtime will result in normal bowel movements the next morning.

8) 100 mg of grated white radish mixed with a teaspoon of honey when taken twice a day can treat hemorrhoids.  Radish can be made into juice with a dash of salt and taken every morning and evening in 60-90 ml doses.

9) The fresh leaves of bitter gourd can be juiced to treat piles. Three teaspoons the leaf juice mixed in a glass of buttermilk and taken every morning has relief-giving effects on pile.  A paste of the bitter gourd roots can be applied to the swollen rectal area for relief.

10) Going into Fruit diet.  With constipation as the common cause for piles, treating it can get rid of piles.  A cleansing diet is needed to thoroughly cleanse the digestive tract.  Start with a week-long all-fruit diet.  Then adopt organically grown foods to soften the stools.
